Due to the relocation of our external warehouse the books and doctoral dissertations stored there, as well as the entire stock of the library's periodicals, will be unavailable until the beginning of January 2025. Many of our books are still available for loan and current literature can be found on the open shelves.

The Library will be closed on the 29th November 2024 due to an university event.

Open days at the Eötvös Exhibition

Visitors are welcome without registration on the 23th of July 2022 from 10 am to 6 pm at the exhibition of the ELTE University Library and Archives.

The 19th century physics laboratory allows us to discover and test the tools made and used by Eötvös Loránd. By testing the tools in the animated exhibition space it shows and deepens the knowledge of how the Eötvös scale demonstrates Earth’s rotation, why our planet is not spherical or flat and why gravity research is still important to this day.

Please, contact our colleagues to arrange an appointment at kiallitas@lib.elte.hu.

The exhibition can be visited on the 23th of July 2022 without registration.
