Pro Bibliotheca Universitatis Prize

The University Library established the above-mentioned award in 2000 to recognize the outstanding work of its employees.

The award recognizes the successful work of employees who have been working at the University Library and Archives for at least five years, perform their work in an exemplary manner and to a high standard, assist in the operation of the institution beyond their official duties, and thereby contribute to enhancing its reputation.

The award can be won by one person per year, but this may be deviated from in justified cases at the recommendation of the institution's management. The first award was presented in December 2000. The winner receives a certificate prepared for the occasion and a one-time reward. The award is presented at a staff meeting or other institutional event. The amount of the monetary reward accompanying the award is always determined in the given year. The same person may receive the award again every 10 years. A committee shall be formed to award the prize, whose members shall be appointed by the Director General of the University Library and Archives. The committee shall have at least 3 but no more than 10 members, including representatives of management and library staff.

Department heads and employees with managerial responsibilities shall submit proposals to the committee. The committee shall decide on the proposal by majority vote. In the event of a tie, the Director General shall have the casting vote.
