The University Library and Archives, as the host organisation, has concluded a cooperation agreement with the Vasi Student Community Service (VDKSZ), based on the contract between the supporting institutions – the Municipality of Szombathely City with County Rights and Eötvös Loránd University – and implemented in the ELTE EKL Savaria Library and Archives.

Save a book, adopt it! Our volume presented in May is the coursebook of the Czech educator Jan Amos Komenský (in Latin: Johannes Comenius, 1592-1670), the so called „Orbis pictus”, which is one of the highlights of the book adoption program of the University Library Foundation.

The ELTE University Library and Archives and the European Documentation Centre (EDC) Szombathely have signed a cooperation agreement, according to which the Savaria University Library and Archives will provide library support to the EDC Szombathely, which is part of the ELTE Berzsenyi Dániel Teacher Training Centre.

The ELTE University Library and Archives offers extended opening hours for readers and students on weekdays and Saturdays between the 30th of May and the 1st of July 2023 until 22.00 hours, on a trial basis. Our training room will also be available, offering free computer access and learning opportunities.

We are pleased to announce that the Scopus Content Selection & Advisory Board (CSAB) has accepted the application of the journal „Lejana. Revista Crítica de Narrativa Breve” to the Scopus database. „Lejana” publishes scientific papers of literary criticism in Spanish and English of short fiction Spanish works. The journal is published since 2010 by its editor, the Eötvös Loránd University Faculty of Humanities Department of Spanish Language and Literature. It is an 'MTMT Qualified Journal' from 2023.

Two hundred and fifty years ago, in 1773, Pope Clement XIII dissolved the Jesuit order, accelerating the process of the university's transfer to the state. Between 1635 and 1773, many distinguished Jesuits of great knowledge taught at our university, leaving a lasting mark on the history of the institution. In April our feature is on the founder of our university’s medal collection, Leopold Fischer.

The main topic of the workshop on the 19th of May 2023 is the collection field activities of archives, with a presentation by the head of our archives, Krisztina Tóth, PhD, entitled „Collection field tasks and issues at the Eötvös Loránd University”.

This year, ELTE Trefort Ágoston Teacher Training High School celebrated the 150th anniversary of its foundation and adopted eight prints of great significance to the history of the school, which are preserved in the ELTE University Library and Archives.

The exhibition was compiled by the staff of the University Library and Knowledge Center of the University of Pécs in 2022, the 90th anniversary of the death of cultural politician Kuno Klebelsberg (1875–1932). The traveling exhibition of the University of Pécs can be seen for one month from April 24, 2023 in the hall of the ELTE University Library and Archives. The exhibition is free of charge, if you are not a registered reader, please indicate your intention to visit at the entrance.
