The 2023 calendar of the ELTE University Library and Archives presents the Jesuit missions of the early modern period through some of the library's museum publications.

On the 1st of September 2022, the ELTE University Library and Archives organised the tenth conference entitled Traditions and Challenges. This year's programme included presentations on the themes of Preserve, Protect, Serve and Preservation Practices in Higher Education Libraries.

There have been personnel changes on the board of trustees of the Foundation for the University Library. Dr. Edit Madas academician, and Judit Osskó architect, were admitted to the Board of Trustees as new members.

The Foundation for the University Library supported the ELTE University Library and Archives by purchasing 5 external batteries. The new devices are ready for our readers.

On Saturday, the 17th of September 2022, as part of the Cultural Heritage Days, we will open our library doors to the public again.

The University Library and Archives of Eötvös Loránd University continued to receive significant support from the Foundation for the University Library in 2021, with funds raised from various tenders, charitable donations and a percentage of personal income tax donations to help the continuous development of services.

The Foundation for the University Library purchased workchairs and tables by utilizing the National Cooperation Fund grant for the Restoration and Bookbinding Workshop in the Eötvös Loránd University Library and Archives.

The mission of the ELTE University Library and Archives, which won the Hungarian Heritage Award and – as part of the University Library Service – the title of Qualified Library in 2018, as well as the EFQM “Committed to Excellence” certificate in 2020, is to provide Hungarian and foreign academic teachers, researchers and students with domestic and foreign literature, intending to integrate them into the international circulation of scientific life. Now, you can also help to ensure free access to information, to preserve and digitize our cultural values, and to acquire modern technological equipment and implement continuous service development. The ELTE University Library and Archives' new calendar 2022 presents some outstanding cultural heritage of Eötvös Loránd University, which deserve the attention not only of the university but also of the public.

The work was reseen by the general public at our highly successful Cultural Heritage Days event on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of Dante’s death, with the digital version available in the EDIT repository.

With the support of Foundation for the University Library, IT equipment was purchased in the University Library and Archives of the Eötvös Loránd University from grant funding.

Thanks to the Foundation for the University Library, from September in our rental area a new section of the latest editions is available, under title „New books”. Our readers can find a frequently updated collection of books in Hungarian and other foreign languages, with a wide range of topics in the fields of history, arts, cultural and religious history, philosophy, psychology, linguistics and literary studies.

Dr. Kulcsár Szabó Ernőné Gombos Annamária, Director General of the University Library and Archives of Eötvös Loránd University, handed the French Ambassador, Pascale Andréani a diploma, thanking her for adopting a book the second time.

The library intended to draw attention to the protection of our cultural values and the preservation of our built heritage with our event organized in the University Library and Archives of Eötvös Loránd University within the framework of this year's Cultural Heritage Days.

As part of the Cultural Heritage Days, you can learn about the book adoption program of the University Library Foundation. Most recently, Pascale Andréani, the Ambassador of the French Republic to Hungary, provided significant support for the protection of our collection, taking over the cost of restoring Le premier livre d’amadis de Gaule (1555). In the frame of the ceremonial book adoption, our generous donor will greet you from 15.00 on the 18th of September, 2021 and the world-famous Dante Codex will also be presented. All visitors are welcome!

On the 26th of August, 2021, the ELTE University Library and Archives organized its ninth professional conference entitled Traditions and Challenges. During a roundtable discussion, our guests could be informed about the following topics: Academic Libraries and the Pandemic, Open and closed: Focus on the User, and Modern Library Management of Museum Documents.

This year, the restoration workshop of the University Library and Archives of Eötvös Loránd University was partially renovated, the floor and walls of the workshop were reconstructed and equipped with some new furniture. Thus, the modern restorer's water table could also be placed in a renewed environment, thanks to the generous donation of President János Áder. The acquisition of additional special equipment was supported by the Municipality of Budapest-Lipótváros and the Foundation for the University Library.
