Due to the relocation of our external warehouse the books and doctoral dissertations stored there, as well as the entire stock of the library's periodicals, will be unavailable until the beginning of January 2025. Many of our books are still available for loan and current literature can be found on the open shelves.

Some of Wiley’s hybrid journals will continue to operate as Gold Open Access journals from 2023. Although they will become Gold Open Access journals from January 2023, new submissions to the journal will be considered under the new Gold Open Access journal model from 2022 onwards.

On the 18th of June 2022, the Archival Picnic will be held for the fifth time in the Budapest City Archives. In addition to the various programs, the archives stand will provide an opportunity to get acquainted with the work, publications and services of the archives. On the occasion of the Night of Museums, the Perczel globe will be presented at 20.00 in our Reading Hall by Dr. László Zentai, Vice-Rector for Education and Academic Affairs of the Eötvös Loránd University. The Professor will give a lecture on the history of László Perczel's globe. After the presentation the copy of the globe will be on display in the Director General's Room. The world map, which won first prize at the International Geographical Congress in Venice in 1881, was the largest Hungarian globe in Hungary until 1965.
