The collection of the Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL) database will be available until 30 September 2021. The database contains journals dealing with economic, artistic, historical, legal, library and information science and social science issues in Central and Eastern Europe.

According to the traditions of Eötvös Loránd University, the Senate of the University presented the awards to the lecturers, employees and staff who provided excellent work and outstanding performance at the opening Senate meeting of the academic year. This year's honorees included several staff members of the University Library Service who are committed to the cause of the university and library development.

We are performing an ELTEfind software update between July 19th and July 25th, therefore, our online search engine will be temporarily unavailable. During the maintenance, you can use our old online catalog to search, which is available at aleph.elte.hu. We recommend the ELTE Library WebApp for checking and extending loans.

In view of the epidemiological situation, the second quarterly report of the K21 Quality Management Coordination Committee was held in the framework of a Teams meeting. Working group leaders reported on the results and changes of the last quarter.

The Library Council unanimously approved the new communication strategy of the ELTE University Library Service.

EISZ (Electronic Information Service National Programme) Secretariat and Clarivate Analytics are organizing a webinar on June 21, 2021. The webinar provides an introduction to the various capabilities of MetaCore application for disease and drug research.

We would like to inform the lecturers, researchers and students of Eötvös Loránd University that our university has subscribed to the following 37 databases for 2021, six of which offere free Open Access publishing opprtunity (Akadémiai Kiadó, Cambridge University Press, De Gruyter, Elsevier, Springer, and Wiley).

There has been a new obligation since last year, so every applicant has to attach a certificate from the MTMT to the application. The document includes the applicant’s scientometric datas and it has to be issued by the central University Library.

An ORCID has been required for validation in the STA database since 1st of april. It means that your STA profile has to include your ORCID, if you want to validate the profile.

As the first library in Hungary, the ELTE University Library Service (EKSZ) was awarded the EFQM “Committed to Excellence” certificate.

In 2021, 6 databases ordered through EISZ will provide free Gold Open Access publishing options.  Pursuant to the subscription agreement between EISZ and the publishers, OA publication may be requested by the corresponding author of the articles, who must have an ELTE affiliation in order for the OA publication with no APC to the authors.

ELTE is the first access site of Fortunoff Video Archive for Holocaust Testimonies by agreement between Yale University Library and ELTE.
